The TRIO Upward Bound program at the University of Cincinnati Clermont College has received a $1,151,524 grant from the United States Department of Education.

The grant, which U.C. Clermont applies for and has received every four years since 1994, will help fund TRIO Upward Bound, a learning program for high school students in Clermont and Brown counties.

According to Upward Bound Academic Director Dan Schneider, the program encourages life-long learning through what is called a learning community.

“The Upward Bound program is a program designed to assist first generation students prepare for and be successful in post-secondary education,” he said. “We offer this through a variety of learning experiences.”
