The 2007 Ohio state track and field championships brought a first to Clermont County sports history. All six of the representatives of the county’s schools, placed and scored team points.

The event took place at the Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium on the campus of Ohio State University, in Columbus, on a very hot and somewhat humid weekend.

Cat Humphries, a resident of the Williamsburg school district, the Division II state 200-meter dash champion, represented McNicholas High School where she is a 10th grader. She also placed in two of the other three events in which she qualified for the state meet.

Among the Clermont County high school state qualifiers, in Division II, New Richmond senior Eric Finan turned in the best finish by placing second in the 3,200-meter run. He completed the eight laps in 9-minutes, 16.45 seconds.
