Amy Baker has decided to give up on her extradition fight.

Baker, 25, appeared before Judge James Shriver in a Clermont County courtroom May 30 to sign the necessary paperwork waiving her extradition hearing to Mason County, Ky., where she is charged with tampering with evidence in last summer’s murder of foster child Marcus Fiesel.

She is expected to plead guilty to that charge in Kentucky only if it means that she will not serve any more jail time; she has been locked up in the Clermont jail cell since surrendering to authorities without incident April 20.

Court-appointed defense lawyer Norm Aubin had fruitlessly asked Ohio Governor Ted Strickland two weeks ago to decline Kentucky’s request to extradite Baker across the river because she was promised immunity from prosecution in exchange for her truthful testimony against foster parents Liz and David Carroll.
