FAVC Cardinal

Amelia boys turned in a very respectable effort in the Fort Ancient Valley Conference Cardinal (FAVC-C) Division track and field championships that took place at Kings High.

Turpin won with 174.6 points, Kings had 116, Wilmington 94, Amelia 83, Walnut Hills 45, and Little Miami 8.

Garrett Hart was the Barons’ leading scorer by earning titles in the long jump (20-feet, 4.5-inches), and the 100-meters high hurdles (15.07-seconds).

Justin Brooks was second in the 400 dash (51.12) and 3,200 relay was second (8:20.93). Third place – Ryan Danehy in the shot put (45-4.75), Adam Sprague in the 3,200 run (10:15.87), Josh Harrell in the 300 intermediate hurdles (44.38), and 400 relay (49.07). Fourth place – Danehy in the discus (117-9). Fifth place – Brooks in the 200 dash (23.18), Harrell in the 3,200 run (10:31.67), and 1,600 relay (3:45.11). Sixth place – Austin Hounshell in the 800 run (2:09.79) and 800 relay (1:45.80).
