To be successful, one could say you need business sense, but sometimes, just a little horse sense will do.

The Meadow Springs horse farm near Pleasant Plain recently decided that, in order to properly ride your horse off into the sunset, you need to be able to see the sun. So, in an effort to curb smog and pollution, the owner, Robert Buse Jr., decided to soak in a few sun rays, and then power his business with them.

“When I started reading about solar panels and green energy, while I don’t consider myself an environmental nut, I am interested in the environment,” said Buse. “I wanted to do what I could along those lines. It took me about two years to find somebody to install the solar panels. You read about it, but when you try to do it it’s difficult – there are very few companies in this area that do this. The zoo put up solar panels on a few of their buildings, I read about it, and it alerted me to the company so I could call them.”
