The Clermont County Fair Board tried something a bit different this year, holding a contest to choose the winning design for the annual fair book cover.

Each year, 40,000 fair books are printed and distributed in the county, and contain the schedule of events and descriptions of events held at the fair. This year was the first time a contest was used to determine the winning cover.

“This was our first year for the contest,” said Bea Faul. “Other fairs have done similar contests and we decided to try it. We had about 12-15 entries.”

Winning the contest was local graphic artist Michaell Reed, who said that his winning design was inspired by this year’s fair theme.
