The Batavia Ridge Club will be celebrating 50 wet and wonderful years of service this spring.

The club, which began in 1957, is hoping that past members will turn out at the festivities, and bring memories and pictures along with them.

“We are a non-profit swim club on top of the hill in Batavia,” said Ridge Club President Michelle Halley. “A lot of people don’t know we’re up there. We’re having a 50th anniversary party this spring. We’ve had 1,200 members over the years, but we don’t know where many of them are. We’d like to find them, and want photos, memories and members to come join us for the party.”

Located on top of the hill on East Main Street in Batavia, the Ridge Club is one of the few community swim clubs still open in the area. Offering classes, activities, and a range of other amenities, the Ridge Club is planning to embark on some improvements this year.
