A six-month multi-jurisdictional investigation into an interstate theft ring and drug manufacturing ring resulted in an arrest recently, according to the Clermont County Sheriff’s Department.

Jarrod Messer, 36, was arrested during the course of the investigation and is identified as a primary participant in the illegal activities.

According to the sheriff’s office, Clermont County has been cooperating with Adams, Brown, Clinton and Highland counties to bust the interstate theft ring, which has involved the theft of motor vehicles and construction and farm equipment. Earlier this month, the Clermont County Narcotics Unit received information that Messer had been arrested for theft and possession of methamphetamine by a Union Township Police Officer, which gave the sheriff’s department a chance to execute a search warrant on his property on Marathon Edenton Road in Wayne Township.
