Already enjoying his status as a television personality and valued member of the Union Township Police Department, Detective Jeff Brown was recently elevated to the rank of sergeant.

The Amelia High School graduate and Union Township resident joined the department as a dispatcher in 1996, and has been an asset to the department since.

“He has risen through the ranks over the last 11 years,” said Chief Terry Zinser. “Detective Brown possesses a well-rounded and respectful combination of education, training and experience. He has always represented Union Township in a most respectful manner, not only as a white collar crime specialist but most recently, our residents may recognize him as the host of the monthly show ‘Crime Talk’ on UTTV.”

While Brown will likely be unable to continue his role in the popular Union Township Television show, there will likely be no shortage of work for the new officer to attend to given his new duties. Brown will begin his career as a sergeant May 1.
