Clermont Public Library encouraging students to turn off the television

The Clermont County Public Library wants local students to turn off the television and design a bookmark instead.

The library is looking for original and creative artwork by students in two different categories as part of its Turn Off The TV Week Bookmark Design Contest.

The first category is students in kindergarten through eighth grade and the second category is high school students.

A $25 gift certificate to Michael’s will be awarded to each category.

The bookmark entries need to highlight great things to do on the library's website and include our web address

Entries will be judged for originality, neatness, spelling, and printability.

The winning designs will be printed and distributed to all 10 Clermont County Public Library branches.

All entries must be received by 5:30 a.m., Saturday, April 28, 2007. Winners will be contacted by phone on Monday, May 21, 2007.

Bookmark entries may also be mailed to Clermont County Public Library, 326 Broadway Street, Batavia, OH, 45103, Attn: Cindy Mahaffey. The library cannot be held responsible for lost or misdirected mailed entries.

Each bookmark must be accompanied with an entry slip. If artist is under 18 years of age, a parent or guardian signature is needed. Incomplete entry forms will not be considered.

Finished artwork measurements need to be 2.5" wide and 8.5" tall. No computer generated images will be accepted. No copyrighted images such as book, TV, or movie characters will be accepted. Entries must be in one of the following mediums or combinations: crayon, pencil, pen and ink, colored pencil, marker, or watercolor.
