The reports of Clermont County high school varsity tennis action have been extremely limited of late, but in those few results that have been reported, Batavia has been emerging as the major winner.
The Bulldogs blanked Bethel-Tate’s Tigers 5-0 in a Southern Buckeye Conference American Division confrontation. The winning members of the Green and White were Jason Strine (first singles) 6-1, 6-0; Aaron Howell (second singles) 6-0, 6-0; Chase Miller (third singles) 6-1, 6-0; Tim Burns and Ryan Mollmann (first doubles) 6-2, 6-0; and Mark Hartman and Jordan Larrison (second doubles) 6-0, 6-0.
Clermont Northeastern’s Rockets were the recipient of Batavia’s next 5-0 whitewashing. This was an Southern Buckeye American game. The ‘Dog winners were Strine 6-4, 6-2, Howell 6-2, 6-3; Miller 6-2, 6-3; Burns and Mollmann 7-5, 3-6, 6-1; and Jared Burkhart and Alex Entrup 7-6, 6-2.
The Eagles were whitewashed in a Great Miami Conference confrontation by the Sycamore Aviators 5-0.
