A recent rash of senseless vandalism crimes has prompted the Batavia Township Board of Trustees to offer a reward leading to the arrest and conviction of the responsible individuals.

According to sheriff’s deputies patrolling the township, a string of crimes involving a projectile weapon have left several homes and cars damaged.

“The trustees are offering a $200 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of people who have been shooting out windows in the Sycamore Creek Amelia Olive Branch area,” said Batavia Township Administrator Rex Parsons. “That’s been off and on, with about 17 or 18 reports. Because they have not been caught, the trustees felt it would be helpful to offer a reward to get information moving.”
