The Batavia Township board of trustees may soon have a resource available for residents outlining the services provided by the sheriff’s department.

A brochure outlining the benefits of the agreement between the township and sheriff’s department to provide deputies for township-only patrol is being created, and was presented to the township at the March 6 meeting.

“They’ve come up with a brochure that discusses the law enforcement contract and some of the benefits in what the sheriff’s department provides for Batavia Township residents,” said township administrator Rex Parsons. “The brochure will be in color and have our logo on it. I’d like to print it up and have a few, but not a lot, so we can modify it later.”

The hope is to get the brochure created quickly, and into the public’s hands soon. The trustees were overall in approval of the project, but will examine it to provide input before it is formally published.
