The West Clermont Board of Education has joined in the campaign to pass a state constitutional amendment called Getting It Right For Ohio’s Future.

The proposed amendment, which will appear on the November ballot if the proper amount of signatures are secured, will establish a high quality education as a fundamental right for Ohio’s children through the implementation of a new state school money law.

Many educational institutions and lobbying groups are supporting the amendment because a consensus has been reached that educational funding in the state of Ohio should not be completely reliant upon property taxes.

West Clermont is only one of a number of educational institutions that have tried over the years, and failed many times, to pass school levies and bond issues for school funding.
