Students and staff at Milford High School received good news Friday after a tense morning of worry and the unknown. That morning, students learned that a bus crash involving a college bus the day before could have involved as many as four former classmates. In all, six deaths were being reported in the crash.

Tom Kilgore, varsity baseball coach for Milford High School, said in a press conference Friday that the news for Milford residents was far better than it could have been.

“Arriving at school this morning around 7 a.m. I think is when everyone got the information,” said Coach Kilgore. “We were getting bits and pieces, and it was obviously very hectic over the next couple of hours to piece things back together. We have four players who graduated from Milford that were at the school. We didn’t know if they were all making the trip to Florida. We then learned that two of the players did not make the trip, one due to an injury and the other wasn’t on the travel roster. Two players were onboard, and fortunately through today’s technology, news got around.”
