Lucille C. Grimes, 83, of Jackson Township, died Feb. 6, 2007. She worked at RCA. Funeral services were held Feb. 9 at the Owensville United Methodist Church.

Nina S. Sergent, 53, of New Richmond, died Feb. 3, 2007. She was a Clermont County case worker. She was preceded in death by her mother, Nina Mae Kalb Sergent.
District mock trial teams face each other in court
Last week, lawyering took on a fresh new face when teams from around the region converged on Batavia to participate in the district mock trial competition. Winning the district meet was St. Xavier High School, which will advance with Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington, Batavia, Eastern Brown and Reading high schools to the regional competition.
County to consider criminal justice committee
A recent inspection by the National Institute of Corrections found the Clermont County Jail in good order, both physically and operationally, and suggested that local officials create a committee to help keep the system running smoothly.
Selection of jurors begins in trial of Liz Carroll
Nearly seven months after the death of three-year-old foster child Marcus Fiesel, the murder trial of accused foster-mother Liz Carroll has begun. Nearly 130 prospective jurors were called and appeared before Clermont County Court of Common Pleas Judge Robert Ringland Feb. 12. Of those that appeared, a pool of 31 was selected for consideration to serve as jurors in the murder trial.
