A New Richmond man was arrested after he admitted to breaking into the Laurel Country Store. The Clermont County Sheriff’s Department arrested Jason D. Sprague, 22, on Feb. 16 for the crime.

According to a press release from the Clermont County Sheriff’s Department, they responded to an alarm at the Laurel Country Store on Feb. 15 at 10 p.m. and found the front door broken. Around $450 in cash and 32 cartons of cigarettes were taken for a total theft of over $2,700.

The next morning, the Clermont County Sheriff’s Department was notified by the Cincinnati Police District One that a man was in custody for attempting to trade cigarettes for narcotics.
