Felicity farmer Mark Liming has been elected to the Farm Service Agency’s Clermont County Committee to represent the farmers in Monroe, Tate, Washington, and Franklin Townships.

“I would like to thank all of the people who voted for me,” he said at his Limousin Cattle Farm Jan. 25. “They all know that I am a full-time farmer, I am active in the community through sports and church groups, and I will do all that I can to help the farmers in the county.”

Liming, who has lived on the Limousin Cattle Farm all of his life, raises cattle and grows corn, beans, tobacco, alfalfa hay, and soybeans. He said that the two most productive and profitable crops in the county are corn and soybeans.

As the newly elected representative, Liming will attend F.S.A. meetings and discuss many topics, approve the sale of farmland to community developers before it goes to zoning boards, monitor crop production and help with oversight, and help tailor farm programs to fit the needs of county farmers.
