Glen Este High School honored its deserving autumn sports athletes at gatherings that recently took place.

Following are the athletes singled out for special recognition.

Varsity football

Defensive player of the year: Adam Chambers. Offensive player of the year: Donnie Talbott. Most improved: Jay Post. Scout team player of the year: Ryan Lehr. Guts-N-Glory Award: Dennis Back. Sportsmanship Award: Tyler Duncanson. Scholar Athletes: Kyle Coorey, Stephen Flocarri, Andrew Kroetzsch, Kyle Mitchell, Josh Rettig, Dan Shepherd, Alex Tincher, Kaleb Tobein, Jake Vincent, Dennis Back, Adam Chambers, Kyle Danbury, Tyler Duncanson, DeMarco Eberhardt, Jeff Gaffney, Patrick Harder, Jeremy Hoop, Greg Jones, Andrew Keller, Steven Kilgore, Ryan Lehr, Tyler McCalla, Jay Post, Jacob Sparke, Jeff Tieke, Joe Toca, Eric Williams, Garrett Wilson, Steven Wilson, Alex Woll, and Jack Wulker.

Boys varsity cross country

Most valuable: C.J. Pickelheimer. 110% Award: Daniel Wulker. Sportsmanship Award: Zack Romohr. Trojan Award: Anthony Scharf. Scholar athletes: Cody Hollingshead, Tyler Kenney, Anthony Scharf, and Patrick Spall.

Girls varsity cross country

Most valuable: Stephanie Stoffel. Most improved: Alyssa Sexton. Coaches Award: Lyndsey Miller. Scholar ahtletes: Lyndsey Miller, Alyssa Sexton, and Stephanie Stoffel.

Varsity volleyball

Most improved: Kaylee Phillips. Best All Around: Danielle Woll. Spark Plug Award: Bethany Gebell. Sportsmanship Award: Kristin May.

Junior varsity volleyball

Coaches Award: Abbie Horton. Most improved: Jessica Houck and Melissa Neel. Leadership Award: Heather Melton.

Freshman volleyball

Most improved: Brittany Taylor. Coaches Award: Kari Lang. Spirit Award: Allison Mack.

Girls junior varsity soccer

Most improved: Gabrielle Branson. 110% Award: Lauren Boston.

Varsity cheerleading
