Henry S. Chapman, 81, of Milford, died Nov. 8, 2006. He was a WWII veteran. Memorial services were held Nov. 12 at the St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Terrace Park.

Orville K. Seward, 94

Orville K. Seward, 94, of Milford, died Nov. 9, 2006. He was a maintenance supervisor for Loveland schools. Funeral services were held Nov. 13 at the Evans Funeral Home.

Arnold Helton, 77

Arnold Helton, 77, of Amelia, died Nov. 9, 2006. He was a WWII veteran. Funeral services were held Nov. 13 at the Craver-Riggs Funeral Home in Milford.

Tommy M. Bernard, 52

Tommy Mitchell Bernard, 52, of New Richmond, died Nov. 8, 2006. He was a boiler maker at Local Union #105 and a navy veteran.

Clayton S. Eads, 76

Clayton S. Eads, 76, of Amelia, died Nov. 8, 2006. He was a retired supervisor at Nutone. He was preceded in death by his son Clayton (Pete) Eads, Jr.

Donald Bruce Dunham, 76

Donlad Bruce Dunham, 76, of Milford, died Nov. 8, 2006. He was a heavy equipment construction operator and a Korean War army veteran.

Township law enforcement boosted

Approximately 24 hours before voters chose to support a levy in Batavia Township to increase the law enforcement capacity within the township, the trustees discussed the status of patrols within the township with Sheriff’s Deputy B.J. Boerger.

Milford hires new assistant city manager

The city of Milford recently announced the hiring of a new assistant city manager to replace Jeff Wright, who left the position in July. Pamela Holbrook, an Indianapolis native, will be joining the city Nov. 27.

Amelia public works project is underway

The first phase of the new Amelia Public Works and storage facility commenced last week. Considering six bids for the first phase of the proposed new facility, Council awarded the $105,000 contract to Perkins Carmack Construction, LLC.

West Clermont to pursue levy next year

Unwilling to capitulate after voters rejected last week’s bond issue, the West Clermont Board of Education is taking immediate action to ensure that it passes in a special election next February.
