Eileen G. Jobe, 62

Eileen G. Jobe, 62, of Bethel, died Oct. 1, 2006. She was a Bethel-Tate school bus driver. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Katherine Sluder.

Village Association of Batavia notes improvements

Two Batavia residences have received property home improvement awards from the Village Association of Batavia. Receiving the recognition are the Gardner’s home, located at 191 S. Second Street, and the Crawford’s home, located at 155 S. Second Street.

Accident ties up evening drive near Bethel

Three people sustained injuries when two vehicles collided head-on near the center of State Route 125 between Amelia and Bethel at 2:40 p.m. Oct. 2.

West Clermont Local School District honors administrators

Amelia High School has received the Project Lead The Way grant for the 2006-2007 school year. The project is being offered at Amelia High in cooperation with the Great Oaks Institute of Technology and Career Development.

New cycle patrol to bring flexibility to Miami Township Police

After about four months of organization and training, the Miami Township Police Department has placed four more patrol tires where the rubber meets the road, but Lt. Steve Rogers said that the tires on these “district cars” are a little more independent of each other. The four tires represent two motorcycles, which began service about two weeks ago, and said Lt. Rogers, they have already shown their worth.
