Three men charged for wire thefts

Three men are charged and two are being sought for a series of thefts involving copper.

The Clermont County Sheriff’s Department, in conjunction with the Union Township Police Department, has identified three men for thefts of copper on 17 different occasions from homes that are under construction, said a press release from the sheriff’s department.

Arrested is Andrew Scott Blankenship, 20, of Batavia. He is charged with four counts of breaking and entering, which are felonies of the fifth degree. Still being sought in the case are Tierney D. Hensley, 19, of Batavia, who is charged with seven counts of breaking and entering, and Adam M. Murray, 18, of Batavia. He is charged with six counts of breaking and entering.

A grand jury indicted the three Oct. 18 with the listed charges. In all, some $9,000 in copper was lifted by the three men during August and September of this year.

The case remains under investigation.
