An Amelia man is facing allegations of sexual abuse after two teenage boys who once lived as foster children in his home complained of being molested while in his care.

Jaysen Bell, 31, has been charged with eight various counts by the Clermont County grand jury involving two teenage boys who no longer live in the county.

According to Amelia Police Chief Jeffrey Sucher, the investigation began in the spring.

“We started the investigation in June,” said Chief Sucher. “They had moved to another family. As soon as the allegations were made, the foster agency had learned of the allegations before we did and removed the (new) foster children before we started the investigation.”

In all, more than 30 children have been placed in the Bell home as temporary foster children over the past few years. However, Chief Sucher said that none of the other children have even hinted at any abuse at the hands of Bell, who is married with children of his own.

However, allegations from the two boys have led to several charges that are a part of the current investigation.

“No other children have come forward,” said Chief Sucher. “Bell was indicted on eight charges: one of rape, three of sexual battery, one of gross sexual imposition, and three of sexual imposition.”

Currently, there is no court date set for Bell, who had not turned himself in yet as of press time. Chief Sucher said that Bell had notified authorities through his attorney that he would turn himself in in the near future.

“Officer Wood, the investigating officer, spoke with Bell’s attorney Thursday,” said Chief Sucher. “He assured us that Bell would turn himself in Friday.”
