Bethel to give decaying cabins another shot

About a dozen members of local historical groups and residents of the area attended the Bethel Village Council meeting on Sept. 25 to plea with council to keep two log cabins currently resting in Burke Park.

Proposed Gulf War monument outlined

The new Batavia Township Park could soon be the permanent home of a memorial for veterans of the Gulf War. Linda Fraley, Clermont County Auditor, presented a rough plan to the trustees on Sept. 20 that outlined what her group would like to do in the construction and placement of a memorial.

Residents tour Amelia Elementary

In order to highlight the specifics behind a bond issue push, the West Clermont School District invited members of the public to participate in a bond issue kickoff last week that included a tour of Amelia Elementary School, the district’s oldest and most needy school building. Built in 1931, the structure has existed as a centerpiece for the village well over 70 years, but has lived past its usefulness as a modern center of learning.

Milford teams win their own cross country invite; Amelia leads county at BT Invitational

Milford was the victor among the guys and gals at the Eagles’ own annual cross country invitational. Milford senior Nathan Bullock was the individual champion over the 3.1-mile course in a time of 17-minutes, 20-seconds.
