Harold Herron has announced plans to retire from the Clermont County Agricultural Society Board of Directors at the end of the year. He currently serves as the board’s executive secretary.

“The timing is right,” he said. “I have been thinking about it for a while now. I have been here a long time and being on the board has been a privilege. It has been a large part of my life but the time is right for someone a little younger and with a little more energy to step in and take over.”

Herron has been a member of the Fair Board of Directors for 24 years.

“It has been a great ride and I have loved every moment of it. I have no regrets.”

According to Agricultural Society Vice-President and Miami Township resident Bea Faul, Herron was an asset to the the Board.

“Even though Harold was not a voting delegate on the Board of Directors, everyone always solicited his advice and valued his opinions,” she said. “He is extremely outgoing, knowledgeable, and likeable. He will be missed.”

There is no word at this time on who may replace Herron.
