Union Township Police launch outreach program
The Union Township Police Department is working to revive an old outreach program in the hopes of creating a better working relationship with the people it serves.
Third annual Taste of Clermont coming to Batavia
Folks looking for the best in local food and entertainment will find just that and more at the Taste of Clermont, coming to downtown Batavia Sept. 8-10. The Taste, to be held from 6 – 11 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. – 11 p.m. Saturday, and 12 – 6 p.m. Sunday, will feature returning restaurants as well as several new participants.
Bethel woman attains goal
Everyone is acquainted with the idea of overcoming adversity. However, it can mean different things for different people. One Bethel woman is not only familiar with the struggle of overcoming adversity, but has now become familiar with what lays on the other side of that mountain.
Archaic village discovered on SR 232
On the way to eliminating one of the most dangerous intersections in Clermont County, the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) has discovered an ancient Indian village. The Oberschlake property on the northeast corner of state Route 232 and Swings Corner-Point Isabel Road in Tate Township, less than one mile southwest of Bethel, was being marked for a much safer approach to the intersection when evidence of a very old camp/village was discovered.
Two juveniles arrested for Owensville burglaries
Two 16-year-old juveniles have been arrested and charged with the Aug. 10 vehicle burglaries in Owensville.
Computer grant a boon to CASA for Clermont Kids
While making sure that victimized children in Clermont County receive the care they need isn’t an easy job, things did just get a little easier for CASA For Clermont Kids after a technology grant updated their aging computer system.
Wounded veterans meet to form group
A group of local war veterans are attempting to form a Clermont County chapter of the Military Order of the Purple Heart. The first meeting took place at the Batavia Greenbriar Veterans of Foreign Wars hall in the VFW Post #3954 building Aug. 16.
Milford will honor its state playoff gridders Friday
Milford High School will be remembering a very happy time as its honors the varsity football team of 1986, the school’s only state playoff qualifying team. The event will take place Aug. 25 before the Eagles’ season and home opening game. Turpin will provide the competition in a game that will begin at 7:30 p.m. There will be a tailgate party before the game in the shot put area at the east end of the stadium.
‘Burg football legend now coaching at arch-rival
Williamsburg and Clermont County football legend Ken Osborne will be back on the sidelines of the gridiron again, but for the first time at Batavia.
Milford spring sports standouts on all-CMC teams
Milford standout spring sports athletes were honored for their stellar performances by being selected to the respective all-star squads of the Greater Miami Conference.
