The meeting of an errant deer and a motorcycle resulted in an air care flight for two Cincinnati adults Saturday night.

David Bailey, 42, and Melissa Powers, 38, were both flown to University Hospital with undetermined injuries after striking a deer on US 52 just east of Neville. The accident occurred at about 9:15 p.m.

Alcohol was not believed to be a factor in the accident. Neither person was wearing a helmet.

The area was reported to be a high-traffic area for deer. Motorists traveling in areas marked as deer crossings are urged by the Ohio State Highway Patrol to slow down somewhat in those areas to avoid striking deer, which can sometimes emerge from the roadside without visible approach.
