Bethel village hopes to rekindle interest in charter
The Bethel Village Council is hoping that a little more time and a second attempt will result in more interest in the formation of a village charter. The village first began examining the formation of a charter in early 2006, but a vote never came to pass on the issue, which died from a lack of interest.

Clermont County Commissioner Bob Proud has been elected to the Board of Directors for the National Association of Development Organizations (NADO). NADO Executive Director Matthew Chase said that he was thrilled to have Proud join the NADO Board.

Foster Jett, 81, formerly of Amelia, died July 16. He was preceded in death by his wife Virginia Jett. Funeral services were held July 21 at the E.C. Nurre Funeral Home in Amelia.
Maurice C. Martindale, 64
Maurice C. Martindale, 64, of Georgetown, died May 4. He was born on January 19, 1942 in Dextay, Maine. He was in the Marine Corps and was a Vietnam veteran.
Jerry Larkin Huff, 65
Jerry Larkin Huff, 65, of Felicity, died July 19. He was a storeroom clerk at Duke Energy Utility Company and served in the Army Ohio National Guard during the Vietnam War.
Helen Naomi Malick, 95
Helen Naomi Malick, 95, of Milford, died July 15. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by mother, Mary Matilda Yoder; father, Oscar Poticher; husband, Chester; son, Richard; two sisters; and three brothers.
