It was a very good weekend for Clermont County in the respective regional track and field championships.

Paced by four individual district champions in five events, 13 Clermont County high school track and field stars qualified for the state championship that will take place this Friday and Saturday (June 2 and 3) at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium on the campus of Ohio State University, Columbus.

The best four finishers in each event qualified for the state championship showdown.

The number of state qualifiers is believed to be the largest in one year in county track and field history. It is very appropriate with this being the 40th anniversary of the county

Emily Tyler, left, and teammates Vanessa Proffitt and Tarah Cole are major reasons for the success of the Bethel-Tate girls track team.
