Schmidt bests challenger McEwen
Well after 1 a.m. the morning after the election, with a small percentage of the votes in Hamilton County yet to be counted, the unofficial results in the primary race for the second congressional district seat currently held by Jean Schmidt appears to be a win for Schmidt and for democratic hopeful Victoria Wulsin.
Senior Services levy passes, to expand services
Nearly 3,000 voters made the difference for Clermont Senior Services, whose levy passed, allowing them to not only continue, but expand basic services to the aging population of Clermont County.
Man drowns in river during cleanup effort
A Williamsburg man died over the weekend when an environmental cleanup project turned deadly. Greg Stahl, 31, apparently drowned after attempting to cross the East Fork Little Miami River east of Milford while picking up trash along the riverbank.
Voters reject Milford school levy at the polls
A deficit of more than 1,000 votes will end a lot of things in Milford Schools, including the popular neighborhood schools program and about 100 jobs, said a school representative Tuesday night after the elections.
Thousands descend on Williamsburg for Grassy Run Rendezvous
The 14th annual Grassy Run Heritage Rendezvous was held April 28 – 30 at the community park in Williamsburg. The event, sponsored by the Grassy Run Historical Arts Committee, is designed to celebrate and to pass on to younger generations the history of southern Ohio. Each year, the reenactors put on special programs for area students on the first day of the Rendezvous.
Milford Police looking for suspects
The Milford Police Department is attempting to identify three males captured on a surveillance video stealing used air conditioners and scrap metal from Baker Heating and Cooling.
