Opposition to former deputy outlined in letter

The debate over who will fill the vacant deputy director seat at the Clermont County Board of Elections shows no sign of resolution at this time, even with yet another special meeting of the Board of Elections to discuss the issue scheduled for next Tuesday, May 23.

In early March, Jones, who has served for more than 14 years as the deputy director at the board of elections, was nominated by the Democrats to fill the position again, but that nomination was blocked by the Republican members.

Since that time, two directives have been sent by the Ohio Secretary of State
