The Union Township Trustees crowded their May 9 meeting with a series of introductions, welcoming a host of new or promoted employees to the family during their regular monthly meeting. In all, one new trustee, two new department heads and several fire and police personnel were announced and confirmed at the meeting.

Matt Beamer, a lifelong resident of the township, was sworn in as the new trustee after his appointment on April 25. Beamer filled the vacant seat left by longtime trustee Doug Walker when he resigned to take the helm as Union Township Administrator a month earlier. Later on in the meeting Walker presented two new department heads for hire to the board of trustees.
