Clermont County residents used their feet to raise money and awareness for premature babies at the March of Dimes WalkAmerica which took place at the Legendary Run Golf Course on April 29.

An estimated 300 people from Clermont County and surrounding areas registered and participated in the annual WalkAmerica event to help the March of Dimes in its fight to save premature babies.

According to Karen Keller, the March of Dimes Executive Director, half a million premature babies are born every year in the United States and the annual incidence of preterm birth has increased 30 percent since 1981.

Premature birth is the leading killer of newborns and a major cause of life-long disabilities.
