Milford levy effort attracts support, opposition
Supporters and opponents of the Milford Schools operational levy to be on the May 2 ballot will soon get the chance to voice their feelings to either side of the fence. A forum sponsored by the levy opposition and a pair of pro-levy rallies will be held in the coming weeks.
Volunteers put homes together for victims of Hurricane Katrina
Chilly temperatures, overcast skies, and the threat of rain could not deter the hundreds of volunteers who showed up Saturday at the Milford Eastside Christian Church to build houses for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Help Build Hope, an organization formed by the church last year to help hurricane victims, raised the money and organized the event. Working in cooperation with Habitat International and the Crossroads Missions, Help Build Hope wanted as many people as possible in the community to show up and offer their time and services.
Three Miami Township police officers graduate
The Miami Township Police Department has also announced that three of its officers recently graduated from the Northwestern University Center for Public Safety School of Police Staff and Command.
