Amelia adopts ordinance to accommodate development

April 27th, 2006    Author: Michael Bradley    Filed Under: News

The Amelia Village Council adopted ordinances at its April 17 meeting for the Drees Corporation to provide annexation and zoning buffering for Tall Trees, a Drees Company development.

The Tall Trees Village, located on state Route 125, is owned and operated by the Drees Corporation; half of the Tall Trees Condominium Living Village is located in Amelia and the other half is in Batavia Township.

The Council, at its last meeting, received a request from the Drees Corporation regarding one of its five home condo units. Due to poor soil conditions, one of the condo units on the Batavia Township side needs to be relocated across the street into the village of Amelia.

The Council unanimously adopted the ordinances annexing the land to Drees and the project will commence in the next couple of months.
