Samuel L. Hughes, 84, of Bethel, died April 15. He was born on April 6, 1922, in Kenmont, Ky. He was a retired bricklayer and a WWII veteran.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dudley and Dora; daughter, Betty Rae; and son, Michael.

He is survived by wife, Rebecca; daughters, Sandra, Lily, Jacqueline, and Joy; sons, Samuel Jr. and Buel; daughters-in-law, Barbara and Laura; sons-in-law, Edsel, Gary, Roger, and Thomas; sister, Carol Ann; 19 grandchildren, and 23 great grandchildren.

A graveside service was held April 19 at the Monroe Cemetery in Nicholsville, OH.
