Few turn out for utility rate hearing in Bethel

A public hearing of the Bethel Village Council held on March 13 concerning future electric utility rate hikes drew only one resident, but exposed a potential billing problem for the second time in as many meetings for the village council. Last month, the council heard from the owners of the Shoe Factory Apartments whose complaint centered around years of delinquent back payments for electrical service accrued by their tenants.
