Iva Lee Stevens Lowe, 90, of St. Petersburg, Florida formerly of Milford, Ohio passed away Thursday, Feb. 23, 2006 in the St. Petersburg General Hospital.

She was born on Nov. 17, 1915 in Morgan County, Kentucky to the late Glennie and Polly Donohew Oakley.

Lowe was a retired schoolteacher. She began her career teaching in one room schools in Morgan County, Ky. and she retired from the Clermont County School System in Ohio. She was a former employee of Curtis Wright Aircraft Plant where she was a final inspector of aircraft engines. She performed the inspection of the four engines on The Enola Gay, a B-29 that dropped the atomic bomb. She was a graduate of Morehead Teachers College, Morehead, Kentucky. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Clermont County Chapter and she was baptized at the Liberty Baptist Church in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Survivors include one son, James Stevens and his wife, Melissa of McLean, Virginia, one grandson, Nicholas Stevens and his wife, Jackie of Bedford, Virginia, three step-grandchildren, Rose Weill, Daisy Weill and Lily Weill all of McLean, Virginia, several cousins and other relatives.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, March 4 at Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home in Morehead, Kentucky with Rev. Max Molihan officiating. Burial followed in the Donohew Cemetery in Morgan County, Ky. Contributions are suggested to one
