Father, then mother charged in infant injury

The mother and father of a 7-month-old Felicity child are now both facing jail time after a supposed accident resulted in child endangering charges. On March 13, Jonathan R. Foster, 21, of Felicity, was charged in the injury of his son.

Gasoline spill stopped short of river

Emergency management and environmental crews working throughout the night have contained a gasoline spill that traveled less than a mile from the point of origin. A leak at the Taylor Glenn Golf Club was discovered and reported last night, sending fire and rescue and hazardous spill cleanup crews to the scene in Monroe Township.

Celebration of 50th birthday goes on for miles and miles

Jim Venters, a business development director for the Bracken Ridge Center for Professional Development, celebrated his 50th birthday in an odd fashion. The running enthusiast threw off the prime opportunity to take a day of relaxation and, instead, ran 50 miles in just under 10 hours. The day began for Venters with the 5:13 a.m. kickoff of the run to commemorate his 5:13 a.m. birth some 50 years before.

Clermont quartet arresting attention of the Marshals

A quartet of Clermont countians are members of the Cincinnati Marshals, a member of the National Indoor Football League (NIFL). Last year, the Marshals, in only their first season in Cincinnati, tied the Dayton Warbirds for second place in the North Division and went on to place runner-up in the Atlantic Conference, one game short of the NIFL championship battle.

Milford junior Taylor Varney qualified for the Ohio High School Regional Bowling that took place at Poelking Lanes South, in the Dayton area. He is the first Eagle kegler to qualify for the regionals.

Events take place in our lives that make us realize we are getting older. Such an incident happened to me last week when I got on the internet to look up information on my favorite female sports hero, Ann Calvello. It was then I discovered she had just passed away on Mar. 14 at the age of 76.

Able Memorial will raise Amelia soccer scholarship funds

Amelia High School seniors Brad Jackson and Ryan Lytle sought a worthwhile graduation project for their Senior Exit Action Project (SEAP). The SEAP is a graduation requirement for all seniors in the West Clermont School District.

Martial arts academy donates to Eastern Area YWCA

In a March 24 ceremony at the Smith Martial Arts Academy in Loveland, Grand-Master Randolph Smith, Sr. and Operations Manager R.J. Trustey, donated $250 to the the Greater Cincinnati Eastern Chapter of the YWCA. Accepting the donation on behalf of the YWCA was the Eastern Area House of Peace Domestic Violence Services Director Cara Good and YWCA Court Advocacy Coordinator Laurie Coots.
