Amelia, GE to decide 68 game tie breaker, Friday
Amelia and Glen Este will be battling at the barony Friday, Feb. 10, for runner-up in the Fort Ancient Valley Conference Buckeye Division (FAVC-B). Beginning in the 1963-64 school year, the 68-game series is tied at 34 wins each.
Amelia poured it on in the second half to defeat visiting Loveland 62-51. Trailing 15-10 and 23-16 after the first two stops, the Barons forged ahead 37-33 after three quarters of action. Clay Taylor powered the winners with 24 points, Nick Davis had 14, Justin Sprague 11, and Keenan Huff 10. The Blue and White lost at McNicholas 50-38. The Barons trailed all the way 15-7, 26-19, and 39-27. Taylor dropped in 15 points and Huff 12 for Amelia.
Glen Este was edged by FAVC-B leader Mason 57-53 on the Comets
