Eva Williams, 3, along with her father, mother and younger brother, reunited Jan. 18 with the three firefighters who rescued her from a slick situation on Dec. 10. That afternoon, Eva learned the hard way what it means to be on thin ice.
Eva Williams, 3, receives a plaque from Miami Township Fire/EMS assistant chief Harold Thiele recognizing how her calm in the face of danger kept a bad situation from turning tragic. Williams was rescued from a frozen pond in December after a sledding accident skidded her onto the thin, cracking surface.
