The village of Batavia has officially begun its search for a new village council member. The announcement was made at the Batavia Village Council meeting Jan. 9.
The new council member will replace sitting council member Scott Runck, who won a seat on the Batavia Board of Education in the recent November elections. Technically, Runck is unable to hold both positions. As a result, Runck was forced to resign as a village council member Jan. 9, when he was sworn is as a member of the Batavia School Board.
