The West Clermont School Board recently passed a resolution calling for local municipalities to curb their usage of tax abatements for attracting businesses to the area.
In a letter sent to the Batavia, Pierce and Union Township trustees, as well as to the Clermont County Commissioners, West Clermont School Board President John Gray asked that all tax incentives for businesses be written with the schools in mind. The plea came after a recent tax abatement for the Midland Company that Gray said has cost his school system plenty.
