James A. Siefert, 64, of Batavia, died Dec. 10, 2005.

He is survived by wife Frances Dorthea (nee Engel) Sierfert; son Brian; daughter Deborah Ann Horn; brother Jerry; parents Jerome and Rethal (nee Luttrell); granchildren James II, Laura Horn, Morgan, Hank and Carsyn Siefert.

He was in law enforcement for 41 years. He was Batavia Chief of Police for 16 years.

Services were held Dec. 14 at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Interment was held at Mt. Moriah Cemetery.

Memorials can be made to the FOP lodge 74 on Reading Road.
