A Thanksgiving miracle
While most Americans are keen to celebrate Thanksgiving, few take the time to reflect on what the name means. As the Thanksgiving story goes, the holiday was observed by colonists giving thanks for having survived a harsh winter in North America. However, while many now simply associate Thanksgiving with turkey and big meals, one Bethel family will be sharply aware that they have something to be thankful for.
The Scholls, Jason and Melanie, a young Bethel couple with two small children, say they were recently blessed with a miracle when their oldest son Tyler, 2, fell from a third-story window to land on asphalt. The miracle? The child suffered only a few scratches, and now, less than three weeks later, is back to life as usual.
