After approximately five years of discussion and vision, the hike/bike trail that is one day expected to link the villages of Williamsburg and Batavia together with East Fork State Park may soon begin to take shape. With a little more than 13 miles of trailway, the feature is hoped to become an economic boon for the two villages, bringing visitors from the state park into the two towns for food, supplies and sightseeing.

Helping to clear brush from the Williamsburg end of the future hike/bike trail, Kyle Cribbet, left, of the Williamsburg Street Department, operates a wood chipper with the help of Matt Fox, a community service worker. Community service workers spent half a day clearing the trail for the fourth time Nov. 16 where the trail begins on Broadway Street in Williamsburg.
