Glen Este ties for FAVC-B grid crown; will face Colerain in Division I state playoff opener

Glen Este will face defending state champion Colerain in the opening round of the Division I Region 4 state playoffs. The Trojans, in their first year of Division I competition, will host the Cardinals, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m.

Glen Este (9-1), co-champions of the Fort Ancient Valley Conference Buckeye Division (FAVC-B), wrapped up FAVC-B play with a 21-0 victory at Harrison. Following a scoreless first period, GE took a 7-0 lead after the second and third quarters before pouring it on the final stanza. Matt Jackson scored for GE on an eight-yard run, Todd Butts on a one-yard run, and Zach Meagher on a 24-yard pass from Kyle McCalla.

Amelia (1-9) won its first game of the year and ended a 30-game losing streak by defeating Walnut Hills 12-0 on the winners
