Volunteers spend a morning sprucing up Clermont

October 28th, 2005    Author: Anna Michael    Filed Under: News

Under overcast skies more than 150 volunteers from around Clermont County came together Saturday to make the area a cleaner and more inviting place for residents and visitors.

The chilly temperatures and soggy ground did not keep people away from picking up trash along county roads and at major I-275 interchanges. Nor did it stop volunteers from planting 4,750 daffodil bulbs.

Despite early drizzle, Julie Toren, coordinator for Clermont 20/20 Clean and Green, was pleased with the beautification and litter pick-up event.

Jessica Bennett, left, a member of Brownie Troop 6850, tosses a bulb to Shellie Bennett as Ed Bennett supervises Brownies Alex Trahan, Natalie Fossier, and Casey Bennett.
