Two incumbents are among the four candidates running for the two open seats on the Clermont Northeastern Board of Education. Only one of the candidates is a relative newcomer, with one of the non-incumbent challengers boasting of 12 years experience on the board in recent history.

Running for the seats are incumbents Ray Hardin, with 12 years on the board, and Carl Hoerth III, with four years on the board. Facing them will be Cindy Huxel and Danny Ilhardt, who served on the board for 12 years in the 1980s and 1990s.

Huxel, herself no stranger to the CNE school system, said that she has considered running for years, but wanted to become involved first to learn more about the workings of the school and administration.
