Braselton, Fedus, and Jones advance in golf action
A trio of juniors have qualified to represent their county and respective schools in the district golf tournament. Eric Fedus of Amelia and Kyle Jones of Milford in Division I and Bill Braselton of Batavia in Division II advanced from the sectional tournaments.
Jones shot a 74 and Fedus a 77 in the Division I Sectional that was played on the par 72 Glenview Golf Course. Teamwise, Moeller won the 15-team sectional with 297 shots; Milford was eighth with 327; Amelia, 10th, 339; and Glen Este, 13th, 368.
Braselton shot a 76 in the Division II Sectional that took place on the par 70 Sharon Woods Golf Course. The field of 19 teams was paced by McNicholas with 312 strokes; Batavia was sixth with 331; Clermont Northeastern, 12th, 357; Bethel, 13th, 364; New Richmond, 14th, 383; and Goshen, 16th, 392.
At the Division III Sectional that took place at the par 71 Pleasant Hill Golf Course, Seven Hills won over the 21-team field with 303 shots; Felicity was 15th with 397.
Amelia fared well in the Fort Ancient Valley Conference-Buckeye Division Tournament. Mason won the eight-team showdown with 327 shots, Loveland was runner-up with 341, and Amelia was an extremely close third with 343. Glen Este was seventh with 355.
